Mufflex 4" Catback sound clips needed!!
Hey everyone! Im looking to order a new exhaust this week, its about time! Anyway, I cant seem to find any good sound clips of a Mufflex 4" catback with either the Flowmaster or Spintech muffler. If you have one, could you please post it for me? Thank you!

Sorry i dont have any clips. But im looking at going with the 4" mufflex as well. I love the SLP setup i have now, but cant help wonder what the 4" would do for power.
Please post up how it works out for you if you get it.

I have the 3 1/2" mufflex with a Spintech muffler w/o cats it sounds awsome. Sorry no sound clips. Ground clearance is another story though. The intermediate pipe hits everything in it's path. I can't imagine how bad a 4" would be. I do plan to modify this system for better clearance, maybe replace the "I" pipe with an oval tube.

4" pipe HITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!???????????????????????????
This is sevearly not what I wanna hear!!! DAMN.
Is the pipe hanging to low? is it something to do with the hangars? Is your car lowered at all?
Please fill in. I have LTs and want to get their Y-pipe and 4" cuz my car is putting out around 500 before the N20. I am going to have to mod some of it, but I wasn't planning on having to mod that I-pipe....
Pics or something PLEASE!!!

I beg to differ. I have had my system on for many years and it does not hit at all. Now granted I have modified mine a little but I have plenty of clearence. If you get the system from Mufflex, do not, DO NOT, use the hardware they sent you to hang it. Talk it to a muffler shop and have it cut to fit. Thats all i did and my setup sits nice and tight. You wouldn't even know that there is 4 inches of sewer tube under the car.
Have fun....

Nice. I can cut all weld just fine. So now I feel good. I thought it had to do with the bends in the pipe or something. FEWWWW......
The whole thing kinda sux for me personally, cuz my car has the spohn x-memeber. So I have to mod the member a bit and the damn $300 y-pipe. And if that wasn't bad enough. I have to mod the almost $600 cat back too. My fuel set up is right near where the muffler is going to be, so I bet I am going to have to cut, add, or modify the tube that goes into the muffler and maybe rotatre the muffler a bit or something to get enogh room back there for a propper heat sheild. But oh well. Life goes on, and it is all just $ spent on a toy in the end.
I will let you guys know how it goes, as soon as it is done.

The cam is a Comp Cams solid roller. 248/248 @ 0.050" with 0.615/0.615 lift. Nothing too crazy. After all its driven on the street.
I have the hooker super comp headers on it. I have the spohn driveshaft loop on the car that bolts to the stock crossmember. I had Mufflex custom make the y-pipe to join the two primaries tubes about a foot more towards the rear of the car than it normally is to clear the loop.
It does not hit if you install it right. The hangers they provide are so-so. Custom fabbed ones work better to hold it tighter to the body. Don't get me wrong, with the LT's you have to be careful on speed bumps and driveways.
I do not have any pics now, but the car will be in the air over the winter for a TH350 swap and some different front a-arms. When it is up, I will take some pics and post them here.

my car is lowered and has 3inch pipe and its close to the ground...but i think it could be tucked up better since the y pipe points down too much. a 4inch wouldnt work for me, atleast i'm pretty sure it would hit alot of things
if it was tucked up as high as it could go, then maybe it could work
my buddy tho has a 4inch mufflex on his 02 slp SS... it sounds amazing! not sure the muffler tho

I'm planning on getting a 3.5" Mufflex setup with the Spintech muffler to go with the Hooker super comps and mufflex y-pipe that I already have. Still haven't decided whether to just let them install it (since I live 10 minutes away) or to have another local shop do it.

I went with the flowmaster muffler because at the time I didn't know anyone with a spintech. Now I wish I would have gone spintech just for the sound.
I am taking PA racing tubular a-arms out and putting stockers back in. Now that the car is launching harder and pulling the wheels, they make me nervous.

I hear ya. I have PA A-arms and am pretty unhappy. I would not worry too much exept that my swaybar bolts don't line up at all with my stock bar. It wouldn't be too hard to cut and weld the tabs, but that just makes me think what else might be wrong with them. Now I am looking into getting a set from BMR. but who knows.
