Which is the best muffler for my 86 camaro iroc-z
hello everyone, I would like to know your opinion about the mufflers which would adapt has my camaro iroc 1986... I want that that does much noise but without being straight pipe... which muffler did you suggest me to buy if I what that my car does much noise while keeping the stock look?
I have the original exhaust line in 2.5'' and my muffler is one 2.5'' outlet one side and one 2.5'' outlet, one 2.5'' inlet the other side. I've got the 305 TPI engine.
and to finish I want to know which muffler between: flowmaster, magnaflow, dynomax, borla, cherry bomb, pypes, flowtech, hooker, walker, gibson, spintech, etc... have the better and stronger sound like muscle car?
thanks you to answer me

Flowmasters have a deeper rumble to them.Dynomax quieter in idle, sounds good when you punch it. The others I have no experiance with. A lot of folks go with the Flowmaster. IMAO. Badman

The inlet should be 2.75" pipe.
Your best bet would probably be Dynomax. I'm waiting for someone to respond about the Cherrybomb Vortex in another thread. That's another to consider.

I tried the cherry bomb.....so loud they lasted about a month....gave me a headache NO joke. A few buys in the club have flowtechs and hookers but I prefer the flowmaster. Most of the guys in the club have flowmaster or magnaflow.

i've got a flowmaster right now and its B-E-A-U-Tiful. Its got a such a low growl to it at low speed, when you punch it, it sounds beautiful, and my favorite of all is on the highway cruising because its just a constant growl..... i love my flowmaster haha.

haha, didnt mean to say low growl, its got a beefy growl.

I'm running with a single 3" system with hedders (No catalytic con.) into a Magnaflow muffler. I like the way it sounds at idle up to about 4000 rpm. Beyond 4000 rpm and up.....hope theres no one trying to sleep in the neighborhood!!!!

I use a Dynomax and I do like it. It is not loud at idle but you can tell it is not stock. When you get on the gas then you can hear it open up. Has a nice deep rumble to it, not raspy or overly loud. I guess it all depends what kind of sound you like though.

You'll probably like Flowmaster, Magnaflow or SLP offerings. I'd recommend you stay away from Hooker and Dynomax if you want loud. Although they are quality mufflers and offer great flow and sound, they just don't compare in overall loudness to the other companies.
That said, I love my Hooker Aerochamber. It's quiet when it needs to be and loud when I get on it.
