Cat & AIR & Hedders question...
I recently had my Hooker 2055's put into my 91 305 TPI.
I know the AIR tubes on the headers were connected to the valve body stuff in the engine compartment...
My question... the tube that goes to the cat...
Where does it connect?
I'm not sure if my old one was thrown away, can I still order one of these, have one made, not worry about it??? Just need some options...
I want to get this figured out and ready before I take the car to the muffler shop to weld in new SFC's and 3" exhuast...
Thanks,
Rafael

The A.I.R. tube to the cat starts at the diverter valve.

GM, replacement, or used. I can't imagine it being fab'd up.
Based on price, I'd go for used.

Another question for those who know...
I went and ordered the AIR pipe to cat... I saw on the receipt when I got home that it says engine code E, my vin has an F, it's a tpi, I assume the E is the TBI... should it still fit, I hope the parts are all located in the same places for TBI and TPI...

hey luvofjah im lookin into gettin headers and i came across ur post i noticed that the type of headers u are using do not come with air tubes, so u are installing ur old air tubes from ur original exhaust manifold? if so is it an easy install that my muffler shop should have no prob with?

You can get the headers with / without air tubes...
I still have the stock 305 TPI, so for now, I wanted to keep the AIR stuff...
Maybe later it can get chopped off...
But if you bought your headers without, it would be quite expensive to get back on... a lot of welding...

what would happen if you just disconected the AIR tube from just the cat? would it idle weird or cause a SES?

Ok, need more help...
The cat to diverter pipe was from GP Sorenson, not AC Delco and it was for the TBI, not TPI engine...
So now I'm looking for a new one, GM or anyone else... can someone point me in the right direction, it's the last piece I need before going to the muffler shop to have the Spohn SFC's and exhaust welded in...

I was wondering how you found one so cheap. I looked on www.partsamerica.com for your application, don't recall now exactly what it said, but well over $100 seems right. That's why I suggested used.
A bunch of people on this Board take off A.I.R. I'd think a post in the parts wanted classifieds should yield some results.

I found the proper one (hopefully) at www.rockauto.com for $17, about $27 shipped.
I should have it tomorrow, we'll see
this is a great place to get hard to find stock parts, you can see pics, etc..
I will probably remove the AIR stuff once I rebuild / replace, but the motor is still plenty strong and fun for now.
