SLP Headers Modded 2 3/4 Collector
This was done to see how much more hp they make and to let more air flow out. I guess it will make about 10-15 more hp with a 2 3/4 Y-pipes from the header through the cats and 3in cat-back system.

You cut off up to the O2 sensor nut, use a pipe spreader to enlarge the collector without splitting the metal then weld on a ball-n-socket collector in place. Of course you may have to take it to a muffler shop that will do it for you.

Is there going to be any clearance problems with the pan or the steering shaft?

Where did you get the 2 3/4 flange at? I have seen 2.5 and 3 in. Do they make a 2 3/4 pipe? I was thinking about doing the same thing with 3in. You have pics of the y pipe?

Looks like a good modification. That should add some power to the higher horsepower motors. A good muffler shop should be able to do the mod with no problems.

No pics of the Y-Pipe. The Y-Pipe will be built on the car. You can buy 2 3/4 pipe and have it modified for ball-n-socket fit. And yes you could do it with 3in pipe.
