y pipe size and header type power comparision needed

hello

I am currently planning to use longtube hedman hedders [ 3 inch collector] and make a 2 1/4 inch y pipe that goes around the tranny into a 3" back. Would this be better or worse than midlength hedders with a 2 1/2 inch y pipe in the stock routing location?

Someone please shed some light

Lee

i would love to but ground clearance would be a major problem considering that the y ypipe would have to go over the automatic tranny crossmember to use my longtubes.

So for now i just need suggestion on whitch of the two i posted are better.

Thanks

CHeck the thread on "BOOM TUBES" I believe there are several links in that thread that reference where to buy oval tubing. No, you cannot squish it in a vise to make oval tubing. As you squish, the cross-sectional area gets reduced. Oval tubing has a larger circumference to ensure that the cross-sectional area remains constant through the whole length.

Another option is to run hooker 2055hkr...they come with a 3" Y-pipe then run a 3" all the way back into a 3" inlet muffler with dual 2 1/2 outs.
