AIR !, need to plug the holes

I just removed my air system, but im not going to be able to put my headers on for another week or so. I just left the AIR tubes coming off the exhaust manifolds, but im getting wicked backfire from leaving them open. Anyone have any ideas for plugging up those two gigantic holes?

I just collapsed the smaller tubes, easy fix, mine just broke, never backfired tho, only let exhaust into the passenger area

what did you use to collapse the tubes? i tried this giant crimper but i couldnt get them to collapse. for now i just cut a small piece of the rubber tubing from it and super glued the cap from a quart of oil over the hose. should be ok to get me from my house to the shop next week.

Re: AIR !, need to plug the holes

He's talking about crimping the smaller pipes after they split for each cylinder. If you don't want to cut everything up, you can do what I did on my winter beater. Go to the plumping section in your local hardware store and buy a couple of metal pipe caps. I think the threading is different but they'll still seal. I don't remember the size, but measuring the AIR pipes will get you close enough.

They are actually 5/16 flair plugs in the manifods and I believe you can unscrew the valves on the AIR tubes and put a pipe cap over it. It is either 1/2 npt or 3/4 npt.
