Re: long tube headers

headman longtubes
not sure of the part number i think its like 6480 or something
1 5/8 with 3" collector

i love them the only thing i dont like is that they arent ceramic coated but i didnt want to pay 500$ for headers. they fit good kinda hard to get in tho. and u have to cut a whole and weld in an 02 sensor. they tuck up alot tighter than the hooker supercomps tho so thats a big plus for ground clearance.

Re: long tube headers

I've got the Heddmens as well and hated them. Had to dent a primary tube on the drivers side in two spots to get them to fit correctly on my 87 bird and 91 bird.

Re: long tube headers

didnt have to notch/dimple my headmans at all. hookers seem to be good but everyone complains how they sit so low and dont tuck up as nice as the headmans as far as ground clearance

Re: long tube headers

Hooker. Had them since 2003. They don't work well with straight plug AFR heads & Hooker's coating sucks. I had them redone by Jet-Hot.

Re: long tube headers

I've got a t56, and had no problems with the collectors. I'm running an x-member with notched out of it to tuck up the exhaust. The primary tubes had to be dented to fit around where the a-arms bolt to the k-member, and that was with grinding down the k-member A LOT.

It would help if you mentioned WHAT headers you're talking about.

It would help if you read the f'ing thread. I haven't changed headers since my first post in this thread if that clears anything up for you.

So you're saying you're running the Hedmens on both your cars both with a T56?

I don't have the 87 anymore, but I swapped the trans/exhaust over from it and yes, I ran into the same clearance issues when I put it all in the 91.
