Just got a 86 trans am with a somewhat built 350..not sure what the headers are and there kinda rusty but anyway the drivers side is leaking I think. Scince my year trans am didnt come with a 350 do I just go to napa and ask for header gaskets for a 350 or what? also whats a decent brand? I'm not going to go with anything to crazy for now until I maybe can get a nice set of headers next year or somthing.

 

That wouldn't give NAPA any information that they could use to go to the "performance" section to get a set of gaskets off the peg.

What heads do you have? Anything done to them? Most likely you'll need stock-port SBC header gaskets (which is probably all NAPA will have for SBC's, anyway).

 

was at napa today (canada) and they told me they cant get header gaskets. As for what heads? not sure I'm gonna get some numbers off them and the motor and run them on the net and see what I come up with.

 

your typical $8 set of sbc exhaust manifold gasket will fit any stock sbc from 262-400. So long as they don't have some crazy porting, they will fit most modded/aftermarket heads too.

I like Percy's Seal 4 Good gaskets, but they run like $15-$20 a piece.

 

So plan exhuast manifold gaskets will work with headers?
