What size headers?

I just got a 91 RS and the first mods I want to do are headers and exhaust. I was reading the exhaust thread and it seems any 3" will do so that sounds good. What headers would be good on a stock compression ratio? I'd like to provide enough flow for later on down the line. I'd like to do some vortec heads with a mild cam, and I'm looking seriously at a vortech supercharger.

Hooker 2055HKR will do at least up through the Vortecs. Probably fine through the Vortech, but that depends upon how hard you push it.

Re: What size headers?

1 5/8 primaries. If you supercharge go to 1 3/4.

Re: What size headers?

Thanks for the replys. If I was to go with the 1 3/4 primaries right off the bat what would the disadvantage be? Would it make less power, move the powerband or what? I may just go to the bigger tubes right away so I don't have to buy two sets of headers

Larger primaries reduce low RPM torque.

Re: What size headers?

Or you could just deal with the small loss of torque and only buy 1 set of headers.
