hedder/muffler recommendation for true duals.
I want to do LTs to dual 2.5" pipes into flowmaster super 40 mufflers, my question is which brand of hedders(LTs) will fit my '86 camaro without hacking or grinding too much? if I can find a good fitting 1 3/4 i'll go that route but if not i'll stick to 1 5/8. I know a lot of you guys are running around with LTs and true duals out there so share the knowlegde and your experiences.

I have hedman lt hedders 1 5/8 out to moroso spiral mufflers and then they dump on both sides before the rear tire. I believe any header will need some twiking to get it in the engine bay. I have to do a little bending on the frame to get mine to work without rubbing.

what are LT's? and you can run headers with the A.I.R. tubes in it and that would be legal.

Lt= long tube headers. And yes you can purchase headers with AIR tubes or buy headers with out them and then get AIR tubes and weld them on. And check your towns emissions requirements and see whats legal and whats not.

You'll also need an O2 sensor, because any 3rd gen that's emissions legal in Denver will have to have a feedback induction system.

five7, my car is registered in eagle county so I have no worries with the emissions money making crap...all they do is mail me my tags every year for a grand total of $26. For the past three years i've been running edelbrock hedders(air tubes cut off and welded shut) into 3" y-pipe, cut-out at the end of y-pipe, no cat and into 3" flowmaster american thunder exhaust. I just started using nitrous this past season and thought a more "efficient" exhaust system would compliment the motor.
P.S- im using an innovate LM-1 system for O2 sensor duties, i don't even have an ecm in my car

scorchmaster could you tell me the part# for your hooker super comp longtubes? and 84 z28 could you do the same with your hedman longtubes and which of these hedders are a better fit? thanks for the input guys, i appreciate it. Any gripes or likes for the flowmaster super 40 mufflers?

I have PN#68468 and there thermal coated. I would aslo get the hedman s extensions so the exhaust clears the tranny crossmemeber.http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

thanks a lot 84 z28, how is the fitment with those hedmans? were they easy enough to install or did you run into some issues? let me know because I like the price on them

The fitment was ok I have to dent the frame on both sides to get the headers to fit perfectly but every car is different. And plus I coundlnt see denting my brand new headers. overall the install was easy and they work very well.

Re: hedder/muffler recommendation for true duals.
Damn I was thinking about getting some hooker 2210s cos I thought they were the only option they are like 430 painted and like 730 ceramic coated. Well I saw these heddmans on jegs https://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...0002_316394_-1
for like 380 and they are thermal coated with like a chrome finish.. I think its clear which one im getting now.
Any fittment issues on the heddmans??? Where does the o2 sensor go??
