Re: Hooker 2055's

they'll fit just fine, and they're the best headers you can get.

Re: Hooker 2055's

I got some Hooker 2055's installed, a 3" Magnaflow cat & a flowmaster mandrel bent cat back (buy one from a big company, muffler shops don't do mandrel bends)...

Being that the stock cat was longer, I had a spare 3" pipe from Flowmaster that they used...

Also, watch the 2055's kit for some spacers, used to hold the brackets for alt / ac compressor...

No, you don't want that system.

Get the rest of your parts, including the cat and cat-back, for the '86-'90 TPI single cat application - same as the 2055HKR's.

The Catco 9118 is one such cat. Magnaflow is another cat often mentioned, although I don't know the p/n for it.

Re: Hooker 2055's

Okay heres an idea for you. Its what I have to do since I need full header back exhaust and e-check to get plates.

I am going to buy the 2055's from Summit, thing is first give them a call and let them know you have a price to beat, Summit sells 2055's for $345 and Jet-Hot sells them for $330, so ask Summit to beat the price and they will go cheaper than $330 instantly...or maybe in a few days...I havent given them the call yet for it..but they will beat the price.

Then since I cant make it to a shop to get the y-pipe done I am buying Hookers y-pipe which is 2.5" out ($240), meaning when I buy my flowmaster I have to buy the kit that tapers down to 2.5" ($355) at the cat to fit, then I will buy whatever cat I feel, like this one from Dynatech (I want to be different, maybe even a better muscle car sound, who knows)

Install everything then go out and get 30 day tags and take it to a shop to have them cut the y-pipe and fit flange and install my cat onto the y-pipe, then have them use the piece they removed from the y-pipe and flange that also and make it into a test pipe, so all I have to do for emissions is unbolt the test pipe bolt the cat in and vwala I have a quick and easy way of getting emissions done. Leave the emissions place and put the test pipe back on...finished.

But thats just me

Hooker 2055 = $329?
Hooker Y-pipe = $240
Flowmaster CB = $355
High Flow Cat = $170
Exhaust Shop Labor = $150 (quote)
TOTAL = $1245

The Hooker 2055's come with a Y ($449.99 from Jeg's). Here's a direct-fit 3" system that works very nicely:

Hooker 2055's (Jeg's 520-2055). Catco high-flow converter (Summit CTO-9118). Hooker catback (Summit HOK-16823HKR).

Re: Hooker 2055's

Yep, I was under the assumption that the 2055's came with the 3" y pipe too... mine did... I actually got mine from Jet Hot for a steal! Guess they were sitting on the shelf too long or taking up space...

Consider getting them coated to protect your investment...

Thats for air tubes and painted....add ceramic coating, also that y-pipe is missing the LONG straight piece where the cat goes so you can delete it asap. So theres another reason its cheaper. Less y-pipe and no cermaic coating...

You got the set with air tubes huh? As thats the ONLY way to get Hookers 3" y-pipe, unless you call them but even then you might not get it, you have to but the air tube hooker headers otherwise you can get the 2.5" y-pipe.

Not sure what you're trying to say there, but the 2055HKR's come with y-pipe to a 3" cat inlet, and A.I.R. tubes.

Re: Hooker 2055's

LMAO....wowser, sorry guys I have the 2460's in my head so im getting everything twisted and confused...sorry again.

But luvofjah what PN is that Magnaflow as I might just buy the 2055's get the tubes cut, get the Magnaflow cat and hooker cat-back, so I have a full 3" exhaust.

HERE IS MY QUESTION NOW, does the 2055 with y-pipe and your magnaflow cat hookup without modifications to your exhaust? As I cant start or move my car until the exhaust is on so I need direct fit parts. Please let me know, thanks.
