valve spring/exhaust question

If i put in an exhaust cutout for the occasional trip to the track, will i have to worry about having enough backpressure for the exhaust valves to function correctly? the engine has only around 20k (acdelco reman). i have been told (not sure if its accurate) that the factory springs require a certain level of back pressure to return to the closed position.

thanks,

Jason

Re: valve spring/exhaust question

negative.
the springs are all mechanical.
run the cutout, or open headers if you want.
