Square tips?
So I was at the junk yard rummaging around. and I found a 94ish camaro with some of these square tips. I cut them off and paid a whole $12 for them. They were kinda rough when I got them but after about 15 minutes of polishing here they are. I'm only 1/4 of the way done polishing btw.

2 questions.
1.Do you think they will look good on a 3rd gen? I think so
2. How do I separate the pipe from the tip? I don't want a weld in the middle of my outlet tubes...
I lied 3 questions but the last one's rhetorical. Think they were a good deal? $12 how could I go wrong!!
P.S. in the first picture the tip on the right, the right half of it is what the finished product should look like.

Re: Square tips?
Those are camaro tips. They are made for these cars. They look fine on third gens - especially on GFX cars. Not sure on non-gfx cars like mine.

Re: Square tips?
They are LT1 style tips in a polished version, i just picked some up about a month ago that i will be putting on my car. New on ebay i've seen them in the $60-70 range i paid i think $50 shipped for a new pair from a guy off of ls1tech. Id say you got a good deal. They look better on 3rd gens then 4th gens in my opinion.

Re: Square tips?
Actually those ARE NOT camaro tips (any year) they are aftermarket tips for any car. I run an exhaust shop and the camaro tips have an offset inlet of both sides to help with the fact that the rear frame rails are not exactly the same distance apart due to the spare tire wheel well. They can be made to exit at about the same distance and not really noticable but most shops complain and cry and charge you extra for not having the correct tips. I have the 3" tips on my car and love it.

and here is a pic of ACTUAL f-body tips....

Dam that car is SOOOOO sexy !!!
I'm on the hunt for a '92 Z Heritage just like it currently to complement my 91 and 87

Re: Square tips?
Is that why my factory stock tailpipes are "crooked"?? I just thought that was somehow related to the age of the car or something.

Re: Square tips?
Well i got them on the car today Tell me what you think.

I tacked the muffler to the I pipe to give it a little more strength because the clamp has let it fall 3 times.

I don't know who makes them in a 3" but you might be able to have these streched. http://magnaflow.com/02product/shope...e=main&id=7220
Kinda pricey though.

Re: Square tips?
alot of people have installed these tips on there 3rd gen, I think they fit the 91-92 style cars best....meaning the back bumper...but they still look good on any third gen.

Looks good, although it seems the right tip is too far in compared to the left one.

Re: Square tips?
I also got a set of 3" inlet tips at the swap meet, but you can find them on EBAY and such, but I got mine for $40 in stainless.

Re: Square tips?
Yeah, that's because the frame rail that the tips hang from on the pass side is farther in due to the spare-tire well underneath....
