3inch exhaust?
So i have an 89 iroc and i was wondering if it is worth it to get a 3inch exhaust? ive heard that irocs came with 2.75inch? not sure on this so correct me if im wrong, but is there really that much horsepower to gain going from (2.75) to 3?

stock factory bend/crushed bent tubing is a poor flowing piece. a good mandrel bent 3inch system will really be beneficial to your car

Stock catback is 2.75. I still have mine, and it's not crushed bent. The stock Y pipe was though.

Re: 3inch exhaust?
Its worth 10-15 horsepower at the wheels. Pick whichever one you like the sound of, as long as its 3".

Re: 3inch exhaust?
alright so the general concensus is that a 3inch is good to go with...now the question. In your most honest opinion whats the best bang for buck? in other words cheapest yet weilds good results. I cant afford Borla way too expensive i heard magnaflow came out with a good system for our cars but i also heard it was expensive...

Re: 3inch exhaust?
I have a 2.5" off headers,into 3" y pipe,then to single pipe,and a magnaflow muffler.Runs much better,and sounds great.Best part is,it's all 316 grade stainless steel,that I got from work
.Designed and fabricated it myself.Just had to get it welded. The upgrade is well worth the effort.

If you really want to save some money and if you have welder or a partner with a welder you can buy the pipes 3" pipes from flowmaster already made up for the 3rd gen and a muffler of your choice then weld it up for less than $250. Or you can buy 3" mandrel bent pipes and u-bends from Jegs, Summit or JC Whitney and a muffler for less than $150. It's not hard at all.

Re: 3inch exhaust?
I bought my Borla catback for $275, used. Since it's stainless steel and it was in great shape, so I didn't care that it was used.
