Where to Find 3" Over Axle Pipes

I have to button up the rest of my exhaust, and long story short, I need an over axle exhaust pipe that is 3". Is there an exhaust pipe wholesaler online that I could get something like this off of? The closest thing I could find is a U bend, but I really dont want to fab up my own with a U bend and a few angle bends. Its gotta go Straight>U>Straight

Re: Where to Find 3" Over Axle Pipes

I don't usually post anymore, but I'll help you out. It seems there is no one that does over the axle pre-bent for our cars, and if you did find one that would do it, you would need to measure it all out and then HOPE that it fits.

Personally, when I did my over-the-axle with 2.5" all I used was:

Muffler > 90 > 90 > 45 > 45 this will get it over the axle, and tucked up very nicely in the corner.

As I said, I really do not think there is someone that pre-bends this, Unless you bought 2 of these: (I think this is the over-the-axle part that comes by itself, someone might need to correct me.)

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
and tried something....

Anyway, GL.

Re: Where to Find 3" Over Axle Pipes

Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for but better. I didn't realize you could tuck it under like that and have it not come back down like I was thinking before. I like your system, that seems to work out very very well. I think I might do something similar, AND, those pipe sections can probably be found at autozone for cheap.

EDIT: What is your ground clearance with that system, out of curiosity?

Re: Where to Find 3" Over Axle Pipes

Shorties (Hooker 2460's)
2.5" piping
Stock ride height. (It does not look like my stock springs are sagging due to my fender gap, and this is what I am basing it on so it could be completely wrong.)

A couple months of scratching my head and changing up ideas. BIG props to Greezemonkeys setup and all the pictures he posted in I think the dual exhaust thread.

Trick is to go around the subframes, instead of just going over the crossmember. So, shorties are what really made it possible. If you plan on pushing past what you need with shorties, then this isn't for you. You can do the same with some of Dyno Dons nice headers, but they are still shorties.

Also, you probably will not be able to go with UMI or Spohn subframe connectors, the bends for my turns around the subframe seem the be right in the way. Especially the piece the dives off from the SFC to the inner subframe. I am going to use Alstons anyway, so this is not an issue for me.

I also plan on dropping the front 1.5", which will bring clearance down to 4.5-5" up front.

Hope this helps.

Very much, thanks!

Will try to get something like this done in the next few weekends.

One last thing, do you know the radius on those bends offhand?

Re: Where to Find 3" Over Axle Pipes

Na, I meant the measurement, not the angle. Some bends have a tight 3" radius, while others have a wider 6" radius.

Re: Where to Find 3" Over Axle Pipes

Actually I'm gonna head up to autozone in a little bit after I get off of work to see if I can get some of those 3" angles. I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: Where to Find 3" Over Axle Pipes

Just got home from work, I am about to head to AZ myself to get some more things to finish up the engine.

Just to let you know, most everything at AZ is crush bent and not mandrel, so I would advise looking up Ebay store "Mandrel Bending Solutions" about $10 per pipe, with $10 shipping, and I think like a $1.25 per additional piece.
(4 45* angles cost me $54~)

My original kit was this: http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS/760799/10002/-1/10253

Because I thought I would be going over the crossmember.

xurusaibobx: I am thinking about starting a thread to stop stealing Guitarjunkis thread and show off my driver side. Let me get to AZ and back, then I'll take some more pictures.

Damn dude you are the man. I was about to pay $25 bucks a piece on Summit for those angles. Would have cost me over $100, lol.

But I checked AZ too and you were right, all crush bent. And nothing over 2.5" either. You think they would have bigger tubing for stock truck/diesel applications you know?

Thanks for all the help so far man, I appreciate it.
