Stolen y-pipe & cat=new setup? Any Advice!

Well someone stole my y-pipe and cat. Not that they were anything special stock cat with nothing in it, and a hedman y-pipe (stock style).

What would you do?
I have a new setup 355ci, vortec ported heads, mild cam, air gap dual plane intake, and I may put 100shot on soon.
I also have a Moroso 7qt oil pan deep sump with kickouts which prevents using the stock type y-pipe. (or any other y pipe that goes under the engine)

I am considering long tube headers but want to keep my cat back setup. (stock location) And I really don't want to go through the BS involved with custom exhaust work. (I will if there are no or alternatives) Finally I really don't want to spend over $600 total to get this done.

BTW: if I don't get this car on the road in the next 5weeks I'm parking her for the winter.

Anyone tell me what you think PLEASE I'm going crazy and about to give up for a while. (I don't want to tho)

wow, someone really stole part of your exhaust. Thats a new one.

Anyway, Your build sounds pretty cool. With Headers, generally you get what you pay for.

I'm not sure what your clearences are but some hok-2055's with some 3inch back may be your best bet and will keep you very close to your 600 if not just a little over depending on muffler and cat.

If clearence is an issue and you still want quiality and can afford to go a little over budget i would go with some long tube hookers, and then a custom Y pipe, If your anygood with a pipe bender and have access to a welder then you can easily finish up the exhaust with some 3" back to a (insert brand) muffler. 7-800

Or you can go the cheap route that could possibly lead to leaks but be significantly cheaper. Long tube hedmens and some 3" back to a muffler. Should be $4-600

If you do it right the first time it's going to save a lot of time and effort later. You just have to decide how much luck you want to wager against money.

i like the hedman longtubes uncoated i paid $147 shiped to my door a couple years ago and i love them never had any leaks. im running the ones with the ball socket flange. i had a set of hooker shortys on my 82 when i first got it and i hated them they always leaked.

In Baltimore and the surrounding areas, cat. conv. get stolen all the time. It's almost like an epidemic.

Nothing new about cat steeling how do you think drug addicts get money to buy drugs half the time?

yeah youre not kidding, at my old work, a big car auction, hundreds of cars, they used to break in nearly everynight and steal all the cats and radios.

Re: Stolen y-pipe & cat=new setup? Any Advice!

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to do a long tube setup with custom y-pipe. I talked with a friend last night he's a pro welder, and told me he would like to help me out with that.

As for my cat, the joke is on whoever stole it. I knock out all the platnum like 4 months ago. He's gonna get a surprise when he finds out all he got was 10lbs of steel. LOL
