Re: magnaflow y pipe question
I checked out your kit.
1. did you throw the convertors away if not scrap them they are $100 each easily, buy a set of headers with that cash. lol
2. did you have the pipes welded or clamped.
If you clamped them then un-clamp them and change the collector flanges- you have a 2 bolt flange on the them now, change to a 3 bolt. This will give you a bigger selection on headers.
If you welded, no biggie. Just look for the matching headers or any header with a 2 bolt design.
Its not confusing, but i would recomment getting a 3 bolt from autozone, it comes with gaskets also.
By the way nice set-up, thats a very sharp kit for the money.

When I put mine in they were very close to fitting my edelbrock y pipe, but not close enough. I don't think it will work. PM dyno don and ask him

Re: magnaflow y pipe question
Sorry man, the stock y-pipe is set up to connect to stock manifolds. I doubt it will connect to any headers out there, not even Don's.

Re: magnaflow y pipe question
I think I understood your question. You want to buy headers that will match up to your Magnaflow y-pipe. And I said, no aftermarket headers will bolt up to any stock-style y-pipe. Headers and y-pipes are designed to go together, and you cannot mix and match them.

Re: magnaflow y pipe question
I agree, that's why most headers come with their own y-pipe, or pipes to match up to the y-pipe. It sounds like a good idea- header manifolds that bolt up to the y- pipe. Glock, if you get a set of Edelbrock headers (or something similar) for a dual cat car, you don't have to cut that much off the y-pipe to mate them up so you could still use it. Go to Summit's web site and look up a set of Edelbrock headers for a dual cat car and download the install instructions and you will see what modifications you will need to do to the y-pipe. Like I said you don't have to cut that much off.
