I have always used the what ever gasket on my cars & trucks . Some heaved leaked and some have not . I have shorty flow-techs on my car now with aluminum heads (my first pair of aluminum heads ), and want to install a good gasket . What are your opinions on all types of gaskets aluminum , copper ,fiber , and did you use gasket sealer . Post up part numbers prices and what you think of them .

I used a set of Earls aluminum header gaskets when I couldnt get mine to seal. They havent leaked since.

I've always used Felpro's and Stage 8 locking header bolts. Never had any issues. I would check the trueness on those flanges before installing. Flowtechs are budget headers and there quality kind of sucks.
Thanks guys . I am in the process of installing a new motor . The flow-techs did not leak on my old motor . I am just ordering up all the stuff for the install , and want to put a quality gasket in .

The very best gasket is a laminated aluminum gasket w/locking fastners. You'll never be sorry you spent the extra I promise!!!! Percy's seal for goods are one version, Mr. Gasket makes them as well... Laminated Aluminum I say!!!!

I installed a set of Remflex gaskets on recommendation of my local West Bay Auto Parts (local to Kitsap County WA), which is now a NAPA store. You can crush them up to 50% to make a seal. I haven't had to touch my header bolts yet.
Have to be very careful when taking them out of the package and installing as they are fragile.

Got the seal for goods and Percy's lock bolts

I have always had the best luck with a set of felpro manifold gaskets. trim the gasket to fit the header or head opening (if need be) put a slight coat of the red exhaust RTV (header side) and use a good locking bolt. I have never had a problem with this and it is alot cheaper.

I would try Mr. Gasket ultraseal just because they are way cheaper than aluminum or copper and i have never had them leak on cast or aluminum. Although copper from what i hear is one of the best materials to use their just freakin expensive
