How much would it cost to get headers ceramic coated?

So I'm planning on purchasing Hooker 2055 (high temp balck coated) headers for my 1988 GTA. First of all would that be a good choice? I don't know much about headers.
Also is it possible to get these ceramic coated or would you guys just purchase the ceramic coated ones from Hooker.
Thanks!

Goto jet-hot.com, they did a great job on the inside and out in less than a week a few years ago.

I've always dealt with TPI 383 here on TGO. His prices are comparable and he does good quality work. I've never had a problem through the 6 or so years I've been sending him work His lifetime coating warranty on new parts cant be beat either

Re: How much would it cost to get headers ceramic coated?

Is it possible to get uncoated (black painted) headers like the 2055's or 2460's then next year have them sent out for coating, or would that be too late as the headers will start their wearing?

I plan to buy some headers but painted for budgets reasons this year, then come next year have jet-hot coat them, is that a good enough time span or does it not even matter, headers can be coated at anytime.

You can coat used headers but there's an additional charge for acid dipping first.

Ya I'm with I H8 WWD on this one, I'm purchasing hooker 2055 in high temp black and gonna run them till probably next winter when I'd get them coated.
What would the general cost be including the acid dip?

Re: How much would it cost to get headers ceramic coated?

As long as I know it can still be done after used, that's fine with me. I just want to hear my car, haven't started it since September 2006!!! When I drove it from its sellers place to my house 3 miles down the road. So I've only put about 3-4 miles on the car since 2006. Never even soaked in the stock exhaust sound...ha ha

Thanks for the info.

Edit: Searched around, quotes seem to be around $200 for non-coated headers to be coated. Fine by me, and I believe this is with acid dip as those who got these quotes got them from Jet-Hot and have used non-coated headers. We'll see in the future, as prices will rise I'm sure.

Re: How much would it cost to get headers ceramic coated?

I got a smokin deal from JetHot on my Hooker 2055's... a bit pricey (compared to other companies) but the silver shine is nice & they have a lifetime rust through warranty...

Also, unless you're installing them yourself, paying now to get them installed and paying later for removal, redo, and reinstall, save your $$$ now and get them done first is my advice...

Other companies do ceramic coating too for less then JetHot...

No worries, Ill be doing the install of the headers. So no problem in removing and sending out to be coated. Just want to hear her 1 time this YEAR, the coating is to come later.

I was able to go local with Performance Coatings. Excellent work and quick turn around time.

Re: How much would it cost to get headers ceramic coated?

There are a few shops in my area with around the same price as Jet-Hot has quoted some of us on here, but without the reputable background. So I'm sticking with Jet-Hot.

P.S. Not to mention nobody has a warranty as close or even near Jet-Hots'.

Re: How much would it cost to get headers ceramic coated?

I think I recently checked with Jet Hot and they (2055's) were about $900... but check and see, they may have a set sitting there they want to make room for something else (what happened with me & I got a smokin deal! )

& the lifetime rust through warranty, can't beat it...

DAMN, Up $150 since last October...WTF (I know, inflation, bigger taxes) but damn!!! Not buying from Jet-Hot...haha, they used to be cheaper than Summit Racing for both the 2055's and 2460's.

Looks like just coating from them.

P.S. Buying my exhaust this Saturday....HAPPY HAPPY, not headers yet though.
