need some help with stock pipes.. advice...

need some help with stock pipes.. advice...

so i got a question maybe some people can help me out with.... i got an 87 formula with a swapped in 350 and i just bolted on some shortys... anyway because im short on cash is there anyway to make the stock H pipe bolt up to the headers by cutting off the original flange and throwing a new flange over and bending a lip or something....i have a replacement pipe cuz mines all rusted out so i could try a few things maybe once but any help with this would be amazingly appreciated....i just cant figure it out..... thanks

Anything's possible with a torch and some welding skills. However, using the OE Y-pipe defeats the free-flowing purpose of the headers. IMO, the effort seems like a waste of time.

Meant to hit y my finger just slipped down a line haha. Yeah so I do have an extra cat back pipe so I could do duals but what could I use for the turn downs?

Either way you go its gonna take fab work, especially if you try doing true duals. It would probably be way easier for you just to fab a y-pipe up for it.

Do a search for some ideas, I remember at least a few threads on guys making their own y-pipes. If your decent at welding you should be able to get appropriate pipes and weld it up.

Hopefully that means you found what you were lookin for! If you can take some pictures as you go and post it up in on the fab board.
