Re: need a pipe in place of cat
Most places, Auto Zone, Orielly's etc. can get what's called a test tube for that purpose. They are not allowed to sell as a replacement part, that's why it's called a test tube! Jegs has some y-pipes or cat-eliminators listed under off-road pipes/ racing again wording is funny for legal reasons..

This is a direct replacement for your cat, even with air tube.

Actually you do need to run a cat on your car. Federal law says so. That's why its illegal to have "test-pipes."

Re: need a pipe in place of cat
I just took a card board cutout of my old cat in an out angles and length to my local muffler shop and they made one for me and only cost about $20-$25 with 3" id on both ends.

Re: need a pipe in place of cat
i just cut out the cat, took a pipe and crushed up the insides, and put it back on. now, it looks like a cat, but functions as a resonator. it made the exhaust significantly louder...good thing i'm emissions exempt
