New exhaust on v6 firebird
New exhaust on v6 firebird
I have a 90 v6 firebird all stock except a k&n intake n i want to put a magnaflow exhaust system on it. Problem is they come for the v8 only for third gens. Should I buy a different gen v6 system or by the third gen v8?

the only difference is the flange where it attaches to the cats. Any competent muffler shop will be able to make the system work. Not sure how it will sound of a v6 though

Re: New exhaust on v6 firebird
I always get the V8 system for the 85 trans am with the 305 TPI. It seems to be the closest fit for the V6 mpfi cars that I have had.
As stated above, the flange near the cat does have to be altered to work. It's not a big deal.

Ok. I'll go with that. It was my fathers car and wen he passed he left it to me so im trying to fix it up and upgrade it a little. What else can I do other than the exhaust and intake.Does it have a chip? I was looking at chips but i dont know what chip to get if it has one.

i wouldnt bother with a chip, you wont gain much from it.
intake and exhaust will help the engine breath better, after that, new shocks and struts, check the suspension bushings, balljoints, ect make sure things are in good working order, then enjoy the car.
