Re: PS pump with headers?
this is a pic from the link you posted showing my exact problem but i was hoping there was something better then buying a longer bolt and spacer. my bracket is already cut tho, just like the one in the main pic. i geuss i couldve explained the problem more, its not the ps pump its self just that peice.

Re: PS pump with headers?
I just put in my Edelbrock headers last night. The install kit came with a couple of spacers and I had to reuse the old bolts.

Re: PS pump with headers?
I just ran into the same dilemma this past weekend after installing my headers. I have a serpentine belt setup on my car, and I have just been running without that support bar in the back, but I'm sure it's not a good idea.
At first I was going to use a spacer, like the pic above but to me that would just not look professional. I also want to use locking bolts on the headers, which means I couldn't use the header bolt hole at all.
My latest idea was to try to fabricate/find a flat bar type thing that I could bolt between stud on the back of the pump, and an unused accessory bolt hole on the front of the head. I haven't checked yet to see if the two points would really line up with a flat bracket, but I'm hoping so.

Re: PS pump with headers?
I ended up using a spacer from at sway bar bushing settup, just cut down. That way it was big enough it didn't fall in any holes and one piece to make it look professional...

Re: PS pump with headers?
I am surprised that your headers didn't come with bolts and a spacer. I could have swore my came with them when I purchased mine (though it was about 10 years ago) Anyway just paint the spacer in your engine color and it end up not looking half bad.

Re: PS pump with headers?
Mine did not come with anything either. I plan on deleting power steering when I get a manual steering box, but for now I just deleted the bracket all together. There is a bolt near the water pump that can be used for adjustment, and a top bolt, those are the only two I even use right now. Yeah the pump makes some noise when I turn it to lock, and its not perfect, but it works for now, until either I make a bracket myself, or delete power steering all together, and free up that extra power.
