I need serious opinions!
I am going to be making a new exhaust in a few weeks and I am in need of some serious opinions.
I want to avoid going over the rear axles and this leaves me with 2 options.
1. Make the pipes exit in front of the rear tires under the back of the GFX.
2. Turn downs ending at the axle.
I am strongly leaning towards the side exits more than the turn downs.

Why not a full length exhaust out the back?
Seems to me you've already got your mind made up.

man that thing is going to be LOUD!! i vote for the side exit. the turn downs before the axle makes it seem cheap and unfinished. the side exits will be extremely loud but different.

a turndown pipe will cause a lot more interior noise. i would go out to the side.

I don't follow the logic, but OK. I'd just order a set from Magnaflow, Borla, or whatever company has the product you are looking for. Then I'd have it put on the vehicle by a reputable exhaust shop if you can't do the work yourself for some reason.

Re: I need serious opinions!
I can do it myself. I guess i forgot to say that there is a money issue as well...LS1's are expensive. I have a x-pipe setting around and also a pair of 20" chambered mufflers sitting around and I plan on using the because they are still new and I plan on using them so all I will have to buy is some straight and bent pipes.
