Hooker 2055 Ceramic Coated

Hi!

I just got one quick question, does anyone have the Hooker 2055 Ceramic Coated headers. are they a direct fit or do it need some welding somewhere ?

also this info below:

If this info is correct the Hooker 2055 wont bolt on to the stock CAT right ?

I would love not to wrap the headers (or will it get really really hot even when ceramic coated inside the engine compartment?)

Please help me out!

Re: Hooker 2055 Ceramic Coated

Hi thanks ill read thru it tonight.
Thinking of putting in the Borla 14888 cat back to

Feels like that will work really good.

Also im guessing i need to replace the catalytic converter, wich one shall i choose? Is it in the thread to?

I dont want to fail smog etc.. I will keep the A.I.R system.. We hsve yearly checkups on exhauses during theyearly test, so i dont wanna change the cat to something that wont work good.

Thanks, any input is appriciated

Re: Hooker 2055 Ceramic Coated

i would imagine ceramic coating them will help a bit with underhood temp but dont quote me on that. for car i would recommend magnaflow hi flo cat (95 bucks) at bandit exhuast.

wait, i belive bandit only ships in the usa though, maybe if you have a connection with someone in the usa that can ship it to you for cheap it still probaly wouldnt be a bad deal.

Re: Hooker 2055 Ceramic Coated

headers with coating will help keep underhood temps down. You can touch the headers within minutes of being shut off from a long drive. they really do work. They fit the stock catback just fine, atleast my 2055 kit with y pipe did. I had a single cat car.

If you order from Jethot, and say you are from this site, you can get 10-15% off. I bought all my hookers from there

Re: Hooker 2055 Ceramic Coated

Thanks Coated it is then

I will buy a Magnaflow 3" cat and the Borla 14888 3" catback also so it will get really nice with 3" all the way..

Orr89RocZ how did your 2055's fit the stock cat, its welded to the ypipe and its not 3" inlet on the stock cat. the Hooker 2055's are 3" collector

are you saying your stock cat is welded to your Y?, it may look to be but any thirdgen i have worked on they are slip fit with a clamp on it, the stock exhaust system is nearly impossible to separate after 18+ years of being on the car and rusting, but in some areas where the cars do not rust its possible to separate the stock system

also you can buy a reducer to make a 3" Y fit with a smaller inlet cat if you wanted to, but since you will be buying a whole system, sticking with 3" all the way is a great idea

when i do headers Y and cat i will just hack up the stock system like i did when installing my Mac cat back, makes for a quick easy dissasembly

Re: Hooker 2055 Ceramic Coated

Yeah none of my stuff was welded to the pipe. It was all slip fit and the 3" ypipe did fit the cat. I think the factory catback was necked down to 2.75" but my flowmaster 3" catback bolted to the stock cat just fine, so I think the stock cat was 3" all the way thru.

yeah my 3" Mac catback bolted up fine to the stock cat, just a heads up for the OP the ball flange fittings will work fine when two pipes are not the same size as long as its not drastic like a 2.5 to 3.5, slip fits(ie. Y to cat) one has to be smaller anyway to "slip" into the other pipe then you clamp it(you can weld it, but changing the starter when or if need will be much easier if you can unbolt your exhaust) and all will be fine

but i believe when i do the headers and Y ill just buy a new Cat(or a delete pipe if i register historic soon), that way the entire system is "new"
