The shorties make it a lot easier to swap the plugs with the headers installed. Make sure the wire set you get has 90* plug ends of course.

I had a set of those Hookers over a decade ago, and with regular length Delco plugs I recall not being able to get them out with the headers on. Granted, I was 17 at the time, so I may have just been being dumb. lol

Ironic that you ask though actually because I'm about to do the exact install on my IROC. Not sure how soon (probably this weekend), but I'll let you know what I see.

You can get them in and out, However, you can't get a regular spark plug socket on them. Not sure about a modified/short socket. SLP makes a shortly spark plug socket which should make this easier. I need one.

I just checked on summit and mine are 2460HKR, quite a bit different than the 2055. The 2055 seem to be everyone's favorite..

The 2055's are among the best shorty headers on the market for thirdgens right now. Even though they are only 1 5/8th's, the Y-pipe design is the best. The SLP's are better headers being 1 3/4", but a poorer y-pipe design.

The only one i know of that would be better would have been the SLP Tri-Y design found on the Firehawk, but those have been discontinued.

The 2460's are 1 5/8th, but a thicker wall tubing so the ID is more restrictive.

I love my 2055's, but I'll be going with Long Tubes in the future. Way more power potential. At one point the TransAm was my sole car, so I needed the ground clearance (lived in an area with very large curbs and the like).

But now, I could care less if I scrape, I want that extra power. Its not my DD anymore, i can afford to lose some ground clearance.

This tool helps a LOT when working with the plugs around these headers:

I run Autolite AR25's they are shorter than delcos but not as short as the accels. I can get most of them out I think the center 1's are gonna be hard.
