True duals/ LT Headers/ 700R4/ over axle/ x pipe?

Alright everyone, Im looking for some pics of people setups. Im going to be running true duals, longtube headers, 700R4, X pipe, and Im going to be running it over the axle with flowmaster 10 series.

I have done quite a bit of searching over the months but couldnt find any good pics or descriptions. Its going to be 3" exhaust all the way back as well. I might put cut outs after the x pipe as well.

Thanks for all you help

You won't get alot of pictures because not many people do this. Usually, you have to give up a good bit of ground clearance to run duals, especially with 3" pipes.

Did you try looking in the sticky section? Theres only about 6 or 7 pages worth of dual exhaust pictures. Bound to be something in there similar to what your looking for.

Ive searched thru that sticky a bunch of times! It seems like everyone has manual tranny or is running shortys.

I just picked up some 3" spin tech bullets that Im puttin on her, Ive also got the 3" x pipe ready for purchase when I get back to the lake. Thinking about getting a drive shaft safety loop so if my drive shaft busts it wont hit the exhasut too

First thing you need to do is refab a crossmember, to get some clearance. Then put your x as soon as you straighten up the pipes after going past crossmember. I got 2-1/2 but they dump right now. I will get you some pictures when I get it back up on ramps if you want.

Guy backed out of the trade for the spin techs so I ended up getting some knock off flowmaster 10series from my exhaust shop

Im telling you guys, the only thing your going to gain from the true dual setup over a prefabbed stock upgrade is the ability to say "Its got true duals". I just finished my true duals and I am not happy about my ground clearance at all. It was a huge mistake.

That is because what you are trying to do is not possible unless you like dragging your exhaust over every pebble in the road. There is NO way to run long tubes and 3" duals past a fat 700R4. You have to go under it and kiss your ground clearance goodbye. It's that simple.

If you have to ask how to modify your crossmember, this project is over your head.

Find me a pre fabed exhaust out of a catalog for long tubes. I have true duals on mine and except for my headers, have excellent ground clearance. Even when my car was on sportlines I had 8" of clearance between the ground and the X. I do have a stick though and custom made my torque arm setup and the trans crossmember.

no you didnt, these cars dont even sit high enough in stock form to have 8" to the floor.

Define Excellent, I have 2 inches of clearance below my exhaust. And would you honestly recommend a true dual to someone who may have little to any experience dealing with exhausts that they should attempt and do what very few skilled people can do?

you deal with terrible ground clearance, plain and simple. If you need ground clearance, or if your car is lowered, the ONLY way to go for ground clearance is shorty headers and stock type exhaust routing. For high power applications the old SLP 1 3/4 are good as well as Dyno Don's 1 3/4 headers which you can still buy. Then run your choice of big single or true dual exhuast along the stock routing. It's that simple guys. You're NEVER going to have any ground clearance as long as you have to go under the trans and front frame rails. If you want good ground clearance and you are hell bent to run long tubes and 3" duals, this is the only other way to do it. I have INCHES more ground clearance than any other 3" dual setup on this site, and you can see that I did not go under the trans cross member. Conventional long tubes dump straight at the trans and frame rails. In a stock thirdgen you have no choice but to go under them, ruining your ground clearance. You just see about 1/3rd of the collector hanging down in the last pic, the rest of the exhaust dissapears. The front end is in that pic(1/8" off the bumpstops) I still had acceptable ground clearance, just had to watch out for roadkill. I've since installed new springs and raised the front just under an inch which will make a big difference.

Yah unless you have the setup like above ^ you will have bad
ground clearance. But it is possible with long tubes. From the way this thread has ended
up going your all on your own for coming up with the best way to get ground clearence. I'll post up what I do with mine, w/o modding the crossmember. Oh and thanks for all the help with info on modding the crossmember, it's nice to know that I got people on here sayin that its over my head

Modding the crossmember is the easiest part of the whole job, so if you have to ask how to mod your cross member it IS over your head. You can do whatever you want, but I'd take the advice of people who have actually built their own exhausts. I'd strongly recommend you go back through the dual exhaust sticky and READ AGAIN what people are saying. You'll be lucky if you can drive over a pop can on it's side and not scrape with the setup your talking about, especially if you don't mod the cross member. Be sure to post up how many inches of ground clearance you have, and the distance from the ground to the top of your front fender lip (so we know how low the car is) when you get your setup finished.

If you were good at FAB work you could just cut the floor and reroute some fuel lines and what not.
