donut gasket replacments?

donut gasket replacments?

how much do you guys think an exhaust shop would charge me to change my donut gaskets on my 86 2.8? could i do it myself? where could i get the gaskets if i could?

I thought you had to do an engine swap anyway? Just put them in while swapping..

debating on swap, or rebuild, idk where they are or how to repalce them though

They're between the exhaust manifold, and y-pipe.

I had to replace one on a 91 3.1 before, its really not that bad.

X2. After your engine cools, soak the everliving pee out of bolts with PB blaster the night before. Then hit them again a while before you start. Even if they weren't put on with Chuck Norris torque, anything exhaust related tends to feel like it when it comes to removal after thousands of miles.

Shoot them with PB/liquid wrench and then tap em with a wrench or something. It helps. Pretty easy to do once the bolts are out. Another hand helps when putting it back together, one holds the exhaust, the other bolts.

the gaskets just drop in dont they? also where can i pick up a set of them?

I bought mine at autozone, but that was years ago now..

Looks like it's a special order part from there:

I meant shoot/tap the bolts. The gaskets are drop in and bolt.
