o2 sensor problem on new exhaust HELP!!
I recently upgraded my exhaust on my 350 TPI. Shorty headers with TRUE DUEL exhaust. I have 1 o2 sensor in the driver side shorty headers. I neglected to put an X pipe in the exhaust which i think i need to do. Not sure if this will solve my problem. Since my 2.5 pipe is TRUE duel i am having a problem that the drivers side is now running VERY rich and getting my o2 sensor completely soaked with fuel. So much fuel that it smokes out if the driver side pipe and there is raw fuel dripping out f the tailpipe. I guess my question would be, If i put an X pipe in there and move the o2 sensor to the center of the xpipe will that cure my running rich problem? I have changed the sensor twice. Becuse it gets soaked with fuel. I have reset the computer(disconnected the battery) I have also put in NEW fuel injectors as well. Could it be possible for a fuel injector to be stuck open? Dumping more fuel than normal? The car is running REALLY bad since i have done all of these mods. please help..

Sounds to me that you have something going on with your injectors. The o2 sensor would control all of your injectors, not just one side.

is it throwing any codes? i had to go to a heated 02 sensor when i went with shortie headers and a 3" magnaflow cat back. the headers keep the 02 sensor too cool causing a rich situation.

You would be reading from both banks, That would be a band-aid fix and a crappy one at that it wont fix anything because im willing to bet your running rich on both banks. What mods have been done? From what im gathering YOU NEED A TUNE!

Yeah if its running rich on one side. most likely the other side is too. putting the 02 that far back will hurt performance. It reads from one side and adjusts both. so unless one side has a vacuum leak or leaking injectors and it was the side the o2 is not on then it would run different. You have another problem! IMO

How would his problem go away? his still wrecking 02's from running to rich, heated or not he needs to address the rich fuel issues
