yes true dual question
first i am sorry to those who hate rewriting on the forums, as i am sure its been covered. second i have google this and didn't really find anything useful.
so here i go; what i have. 92 camaro with a carburetor 350 with hedmen headers, 700r4, 10 bolt, stock ride height. right now i have a true dual but it is a horribly close to the passenger floor (actually heats the floor) and it dumps right before the rear end. i would like the set up where it runs near the drive shaft and dumps at the rear similar to stock position. so any diy kits or a good affordable shop near ferndale michigan.

Re: yes true dual question
if you search this board there are tons of threads on duals, i have a similar set up to yours, but everything ive found in kit form is a y pipe to single to a dual out let muffler-i actually took one off my old parts car,and brought the y pipe to a local shop this morning,he is goint to call me with a estimate to make a new one(rusty) fyi, he said he would build a true dual set up for 350,labor included, but it seems to be the general opinion that a good y pipe, and 3 inch cat back is more than enough for most street cars-good luck!

Re: yes true dual question
Thank you. Now I actually don't have a cat. It was long gone before I even got the car. So I guess I am not even sure a shop will touch it. But again thanks for a confirmation.

Re: yes true dual question
there is a heat shield that should be between the cat and the floor,if its missing that will help a lot with the heat

Re: yes true dual question
Here is my build, Custom dual set up from headers back to the bumper. Since this post Ive added two magniflow oval mufflers on each side of the trunk well.
As for the floor heating up get your self a hold of the factory heat shield where the cat was. Its not on the cat! Its on the floor pan. Its a large piece of sheet metal that is spaced a bit from the floor pan to reflect the heat.
