Got an entire catback exhaust system w/superturbo muffler for $110 shipped. Guess how

Got an entire catback exhaust system w/superturbo muffler (DUAL SPLIT EXIT INCLUDING THE TIPS) for $110 shipped TO MY DOOR! I GOT A COUPON CODE FOR $10 OFF AT www.streetsideauto.com AND THERE IS A $75 DYNOMAX EXHAUST REBATE GOING ON UNTIL AUGIST 31ST.

Here is the press release which states purchases until 8/31/2011 can get the $75 rebate

http://www.dynomax.com/press_release...mail-in-rebate

and here is the link to streetsideauto.com for the system. Free shipping, $202 price minus $75 rebate = $127 to your door. I don't know why anyone would run a stock system any more. Don't beat the dead horse which is discussions about exahsut this and exhaust that. For $127 what do you have to lose? [PART #17495]

http://www.streetsideauto.com/p/dyno...at-back-17495/

you can try coupon code Q3102011 and you will get $10 more off the price. Remember, a rebate comes from Dynomax so you pay streetside the total and then get the rebate. So, if the $10 off works the total out of pocket could be $117. Quote from torque_is_good.

I personally got the one for $195.99 (part #17493). Paid $185.99 cause of the coupon, and when I get the rebate Debit card (mail in) I will have only paid $110 out of pocket for a complete 2.5" cat back exhaust with super turbo muffler with dual split exit tail pipes. All hangers and mounting brackets are included. Perfect for your 3rdgen 2.8 or 5.0.

Rebate works with all Dynomax performance exhaust systems, but the $10 coupon code works only at www.streetsideauto.com.

here is the link to the rebate.

Its a good deal no doubt. But should you go bigger on the engine or do upgrades to yours, it will become a restriction.

For those looking for a stock replacement on a stock engine, and want to ahve the exhaust tips out of sight, as well as a nice and not overly loud exhaust note, this exhaust is a great purchase.

It will not last as long as V2A, but costs about 1/10th of a full V2A exhaust. If this one lasts for 5 years, 10 of them last for 50 years. Just something to consider. After 55 years the V2A exhaust becomes a money saver, if it's still in one piece.

For engines up to ~260 HP this exhaust is not a restriction (going by rule-of-tumb numbers for SBC 305's and 350's operating up to 6000 rpm) For engines up to 300HP it's nothing to worry about, unless you're racing your 300 HP car and are constantly running close to 6500 rpm, in which case you'll probably go for a straight exhaust or gutted system anyways.

I like the tips it comes with, I'll post some picks when it arrives. And it's a great deal.

we're talking about a $110 total cost, shipped to your door system that is large enough to support most people here. Don't forget, 4th gen's didn't come with 3 inch systems either and if I'm not mistaken, they put out more than 250HP. I installed a 3 inch magnaflow on my 4th gen Z28 and removed the 2 1/2 inch system.

If you are running a stock system, you should jump all over this. Deals like this don't come around often. Again $110 !!!!! nuf said

the big choke point next is the exh manifold and y pipe.

To get one misconception out of the way, even if this exhaust becomes a restriction (example, some of the LS1 4th gens put out figures close to 300 HP) it doesn´t mean that you´re not able to make more power.

All a restrictive exhaust does is limit scavenging effect at higher RPM. That means that due to the limited exhaust flow the cylinders are not fully cleared of spent mixture after the combustion and exhaust stroke and are not fully filled with combustible mixture on the next intake stroke due to a small amount of exhaust gas still left.

You can make far more power then supported by the exhaust. At lower RPM you won´t even notice the difference. At higher RPM the limiting exhaust causes some losses a bigger exhaust wouldn´t.

I would love to als post a picture of the Dynomax exhaust tips. Their best property however is that when I photograph the back of my car, you don´t see them

I might still put some V2A tips with the same 45° angle on them, because the edges of the tailpipes are a but rough. Cleaning them would also remove the aluminum coating, but a set of $25 cut off 2,5" tips extending maybe 1" over the actual tailpipe should make them look clean enough.

If you´d be looking for a budget approach to headers back exhaust, picking up this one, a $85 2,5"in/2,5"out cat, the Hedman shorties and their $125 Y pipe would set you back just under $500.

For a street drive car with a 305 or 350 that´s about as much exhaust as you´ll need. 383´s and bigger might like a little more.

Yep. that's my basic logic. Spend as liitle as possible redoing the exhaust for this engine, and then when I get a 350 I'll get a much better exhaust.
