Video of my Dynomax Muffler

What surprises me is that im running Headers into a 3 inch Y pipe on my 350 and its still this quiet with a full exhaust. I hope to get a flowmaster soon but here this is for now

That is the beauty of Dynomax. Quiet at part throttle & easy cruise speed, but wakes up at WOT.

Re: Video of my Dynomax Muffler

Thats really a shame,to have gone through all that work and not be able to hear it unless you gun it. I could never understand whats so appealing about that in a muffler on our cars.

Re: Video of my Dynomax Muffler

Thanks for the vid. Sounds good at rev but me personally, that isn't what I want in an exhaust sound. I want to hear it rumbling in my driveway at idle. I guess I'll stick with my Flowaster.

Re: Video of my Dynomax Muffler

thanks for the responses guys. And @ronusmcmma i know. It sucks. It sounded so great with just an open Y pipe, but we have emissions here.So im planning on putting on something like a flowmaster or a Magnaflow. I cant stand not hearing it rumble!

Re: Video of my Dynomax Muffler

Sadly this is the only video i have of when it sounded good. And it was before the idle was set correctly. So it doesnt sound too swift. =/ Oh well, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLdse...el_video_title You can hear it best at around 2:15

Re: Video of my Dynomax Muffler

If you wanted loud why did you buy Dynomax? It sounds a lot more aggressive than a stock exhaust. The benefit of a quieter muffler like Dynomax is pretty simple, it's not obnoxiously noisy when you don't want attention. You don't have to worry so much about a cop a block or two away hearing you tear away from a stop light with a subtle exhaust. Just about any aftermarket performance muffler is going to be louder then Dynomax. If you want more noise, just swap to something else.

Re: Video of my Dynomax Muffler

I actually am a fan of my Flowmaster, it's a dual chamber and I wanna say an 80's series, but I'm also catless with a full 3 inch exhaust, has a real throaty idle and really screams at WOT, almost racecar like. I've thought about running Magnaflow bullet style mufflers on it, I've heard great things about them.

http://youtu.be/z1gJ8OQoniU - terrible example for the sound cuz the mic gets bled out, i'll shoot a better video eventually. lol

the catilitic converter is what quiets it down.i ran my camaro bypassing the muffler with a straight pipe and it wasn't even loud.when i had it inspected they made me put the muffler back on.state law.

Re: Video of my Dynomax Muffler

I really like the sound of your exhaust. I wished my sounded like that. But I've got those loud flowmaster and I do not like the attention it atracts. Every cop looks at it when I leave from a stop. Every teen racer wants to try me. I may switch. It would sure be nice to cruse around with out being thought of as a stupid street racer.

Re: Video of my Dynomax Muffler

I like the Dynomax. Very toned down. I myself would love to run a Dynomax setup but in 3'. My buddies 89 GTA has the 2.5 and it sounds good. If I want it to be loud thats what i have my cutout for.
