My true dual fix

the spohn crossmember sucked and since the car is lowered i would had about 2 in of ground clearence so i started fabbing this crossmember to go up inside the rails. i can run the exhaust completely straight so ground clearence will be awesome. still gotta fab the torque armmount and weld on driveshaft loop but its def worth it ill post pics when its completely finished.

Great job fabricating this. I'd love to see how it all works out.

Re: My true dual fix

did you use tubing or round stock? Thats sweet, Ive been thinking about making one of those.Would be so much easier if I had my hands on one, so i could reverse engineer one, Would be alot easier. post some more when you get it fab'd up. a bar napkin print would be nice 2. Dont quit recall, but im thinking the ones ive seen used square tubing for the cross section. is that what was causing the clearance issues?

Re: My true dual fix

i used roll bar tubing. i made everything out of round stock except i reused the crappy spohn driveshaft loop. Im running a true dual 3" i made with mandrel bends and so far it hasnt hit anywhere and the car is lowered about 2". The only problem i have is the mufflers hit so im going to use a piece of 4" exhaust pipe and cut it down the center and basically cut the floor out and make "tunnels".

The first picture is the spohn crossmember. Imagine trying to run a 3" under it with clearence. I need to get better pictures because the pictures make things look both crooked and the exhasut in the pictures appears low but its not its just the way it bends.
