Crazy Idea

Well I prob think its not possible but I was wondering if I can get my car to sound like a race car (NASCAR). Im a big fan of it and I love how the cars sound. This was just a crazy idea that prob wont work but I was seeing if it is possible. It has a built motor and that just a crappy exhaust system.

Yes buy an sb2.2 and install sb2.2 headers and boom tubes or do the same with an r07

Re: Crazy Idea

perfectly tuned equal length titanium headers, an exhaust system that is perfectly tuned to the engine, boom tubes..
oh, yeah, you will also need an engine that makes 850hp at 10,000 rpm..

the closest you are going to get with anything resembling a street car would be long tube headers, X pipe, and a true dual exhaust with some free flowing mufflers. the Flowmaster 2.5" kit with Hedman 2.5" X pipe that i had on my 71 Nova sounded absolutely evil at full throttle when driven in anger, and that was a mere 400 or so HP 355 that i only revved to 7200..

Re: Crazy Idea

Yah. Your going to need major exhaust work and a high reving V8 to get that sound. 7000rpm is attainable with an LS7 or a Coyote 302. I think the 302 has more of that High reving sound your looking for. Start packing that piggy bank up. You're going to need about 10k. Or at least get an engine that's not as resticted up top like the L98 TPI. A ZZ4 stoker 383 with a nice cam, High rise intake, roller rockers, etc... Should get you closer to that sound for allot cheaper. Like 7k.

did that interfere with the fish tank and the 72" plasma tv that they probably also put in that same car?

Re: Crazy Idea

how about some electric exhaust cut-outs? you can flip a switch and run open headers basically. flip the switch and your running back through the mufflers again. just a thought.

I have a cheap exhaust system on the car now with a cut out that has leaks and other problems. I have a 383 in the car right now.
