Can hooker 2055's fit an early third gen (ie 1984 trans am?)
Just found a really good deal on 2055's. but will they fit?

why wouldn't they fit? the hookups for the emissions stuff might be in a slightly different location, but they still go on a small block in a 3rd gen F body..

Called summit and they said that it will not fit.... That's why I'm asking, but like you said why wouldn't they fit?

Just make sure your motor mounts arent wasted. I had my passenger header hit the kmember badly, still could get it on with some wrestling but caused some vibrations.

Hmmm..... So would you still recommend them? Would you have installed them differently (i.e. - at a shop?)

the difference might be in the hookup for things like the AIR pump tubes and the cat converter flange. Hooker might have gotten them CARB certified in a certain car with a certain engine and trans, so they might be technically legal and a direct fit on a TPI motor with a stick but will actually work just fine on a TBI motor with an auto..
