What are these headers???

I thought I was getting a good deal on these today until I got them home and looked where the collectors should be.
Does anyone know what they are? I would love to use them but I have no way of installing a donut gasket onto them.

Re: What are these headers???

Those look crazy. I wonder instead of true dual exhaust, you could run true quad exhaust. What would that sound like?

Re: What are these headers???

neat find-doesn't really look like SLP-at least not like the normal SLP headers, those have forged or cast stainless steel individual flanges where the headers bolt to the head.~1991,i looked into theSLP tri-ys and IIRC the set was something like $1200 back then The two port "y" flanges look a lot like mid-'70s saab 99 manifold gasket might fit,but i'd have to get out a saab gasket to measure to be sure...

I think they look killer and I would love to figure out how to get them bolted up. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: What are these headers???

Those are SLP Tri-Y headers. They look like they're in decent condition too. They look like later model ones. The early ones have separate header-to-head flanges for each pipe instead of the one piece like yours (which is a better design in some respects). Do you have the collector pipes?

You'll have to come up with the collector gaskets as well.

Re: What are these headers???

cool that they are SLPthe collector gaskets look exactly like saab gaskets-rough measurement of saab gasket is 5 3/4" long,3 1/4"wide,about 5" center to center of outer holes, two exhaust holes about 1 11/16" dia.

Re: What are these headers???

When you can get longtube underchassis headers for a couple hundred bucks(Hedman) why waste time and effort on those?

I don't have the collector pipes. Are the ones in the pic for sale?

Sorry. The pipes aren't for sale because they're on my car.

I wouldn't know where to find a set either. It was about 4-5 years ago when I contacted SLP for some collector gaskets. No gaskets or any left over parts/components.

Here's a link to my gasket search story. Man, my memory has faded a lot since '09.

Yes, according to my research I did back then the gaskets by application are for a 1969 Saab 99.

+1

These are the only true "bolt on" mod that I have ever run across that was just that. Bolt on. No grinding, pounding, bending, etc.

Re: What are these headers???

Yup, as stated, SLP Tri-Ys. Same ones used on the 91-92 SLP Firehawks but as stated those do have the different 1 piece flange and some other small differences..

If you don't have the Y pipe your in for a time finding one and in good shape.

Lingenfelter used them on a few of his builds but I'm fairly sure he never sold them.
