Re: exhaust

if your exhaust ends under the car its illegal since some the the exhaust will seep into the car and give you carbon monoxide poisoning.

Re: exhaust

There is a lot of work that needs to be done to have them dump out the side. If you don't go through the frame rail you lose a whole lot of ground clearance.

There is a member on here to was doing a "Boom Tube" NASCAR style side exhaust but he had to cut the frame rail to make it work. It looked sweet and was REALLY loud, but...I can't help but think he'd run into structual problems later on.

Re: exhaust

i guess your state laws will dictate the legality?

i was sitting here thinking about side exit exhaust. i've had 3 vehicles over the years that i can think of with side exhaust. the only one i didnt mind was an old truck. i had the side exit on a 71 chevelle when i was a kid, (with the old cable operated cut-outs, lol). now that car sat higher than a 3rd gen, and still dragged the road once in a while. it also sounded like a truck at low RPMs.
then i had a 78 camaro with side exhaust. same thing, sounded "truckish", bottomed out now and then, and i actually ripped part of it off on a speed bump and ran it over! dont really remember getting burnt on them.
i guess what i'm getting at is, it's not a great idea. these cars are low as it is, you'll want all the ground clearance you can get. your car will be safer and sound better to run it out the back. at the least i'd run it down the center as high as possible and dump it before the rear, but it will be louder then going over the rear and out the back.
just my thoughts.

If you like it and can get ti through inspection then keep it. If you don't like it then don't keep it.

That would be a great question to ask your local shop or DMV. Seriously if you are going to try to make a point at least hit the spell check.

Perfect or not you are insulting the board by not even making an effort to post anything legible.

I think you would get more help if you double checked your information unless you are really curious about email coming out of chrome tips.

Yes you cannot form a complete sentence and I am the stupid one.

I don't know your boy or how being 16 years old turns your car into a straight neon. Hell I did not even know there were bent neons but I am guessing they are the under 16 crowd.

The best thing you can do is what I already told you. Call the shop and ask. Also call the DMV and ask. Don't take you "boys" advice or anyone from the board. Call the local officials for your inspection and get a good answer.
