Hey guys, I'm having trouble finding a y pipe for my 88 iroc 350 tpi. I have a magnaflow cat back ready to go and I'll also be delteing the cat, but which y pipe is the best fit for stock exhaust manifolds? Thanks

 

Anyone? I'm guessing a magnaflow Y pipe will bolt right up to the manifolds?

 

Yes, the Magnaflow single 3" y-pipe bolts up to TPI manifolds, 1986 and newer.

Will a '86-up slip fit cat let that y-pipe fit an 85? Are the '85 exhaust manifolds different than the 86-up?

 

Just want to second that the Magnaflow 16450 pipe is an excellent piece for stock manifolds:

Not sure. 85 uses the 4 bolt cat, which isn't compatable - but is an easy swap if the y-pipe is changed.

Someone else know?

 

Yep, and therein lies my question. Are the '85 and '86 manifolds the same on TPI cars? I know the '85 uses a 4 bolt cat and the '86 uses a slip fit cat so if the '85 and '86 manifolds are the same I should be able to run the magnaflow y-pipe with an '86 cat on my '85 TPI.

That pipe is a slick looking piece. Should be a nice improvement to the stocker I'd think, not a bad price either.

 

Does this apply to verts as well? Exhaust is next on my list and this would be awesome for my 91. Their site only list up to 89...
