Exhuast for a 5.7 on a 5.0

I'm looking for an exhaust system for my 91 firebird with a 305 tbi. I want something loud like the slp loudmouth system. I was wondering if I could put it on even though it's made for a 5.7 liter rather than my 5.0

5.0 and 5.7 (305 and 350) are indistinguishable externally except by casting numbers and the like.

So yes, it will absolutely bolt right up and work. Might not be as "ideal" for 305 as it could; but when you get tired of that gutless POS and throw it in the trash like any sensible person does so they can upgrade to the "standard" small block, the 350, you won't be saddled with something you bought mistakenly that's only appropriate for the lame 305 that now impedes your progress.

Thanks! I figured as much, and yeah it's not the fastest thing ever. Or even fast at all. But it's my first car and I love it. Can't imagine the logic behind putting the truck motors in a muscle car(well besides it being cheaper).

There was more to it than "cheeeeeeeeper", in those days; although, as we all know, sooner or later, it all comes down to that. (i.e. if we REALLY WANTED TO, we could spend the money accomplish WHATEVER, but ... we put 305s in cars that were supposed to be "performance" so that just goes to show...) Not really a truck motor, just go drive a truck that has a 305 in it and try to load it with something simple like firewood or the like, or tow a boat or something. That motor NEVER should have existed in anything besides econo s***boxes.

I towed our 18' travel trailer with our '95 G20 van with L03...it did just fine.

pretty sure the 350 (5.7) had exhaust manifolds with bigger outlets than the 305 (5.0) did, so it might not be a straight bolt up deal unless you get the proper manifolds, too.

I have a Loudmouth1 on my 305 Formula. It will be loud! I also have shorty headers and a 2-1/2" feed to the cat-back, no cat...
Enjoy!
