Doug's Header clearance

Looking at a set of Doug's headers to run on my 87 build with AFR heads and a T-56. These would be the full length part # 3321 headers. Anyone running these and any issues with clearance on a T-56 transmission? If I remember correctly the AFR head changes the mounting height slightly and the T-56 clutch mechanism can be a challenge as well. Any input welcome and thx in advance.

Re: Doug's Header clearance

Some have no issues and others have issues with the clearance of these headers. I tried them, not with a T56, but the passenger side was not working at all. There is a very helpful thread on the install for these, as they are same as Hooker 2210, and I tried the tips, but in the end it just didn't work. Sold them and bought some SW Headers and they fit perfect. No issues.
Also, the Dougs hang low so keep that in mind as well. Good luck.

Re: Doug's Header clearance

Thanks looked at a set of SW and they are definitely nice. I even had a deal made with another forum member. Then after speaking with a friend I checked further and found out from SW that they won't clear my bell housing and clutch mechanism. Kind of pissed him off when I backed out of the deal, but I just can't justify spending a bunch of cash to beat a dent in the collector so they will clear. I may just end up going with a mid length header.

Looked at Dyno Don or I should say looked for a web page. I can't find a page to look at their stuff. Have you seen a link?

Re: Doug's Header clearance

Thanks I saw that page before .......I was looking for something with the Dyno Don name. The headers look good and the quality seems to be right up there as well. Wish they made a collector in stainless to match my Hooker exhaust system.

My grandparents lived on Absaraka St. I live in Wisconsin but spent many summers in Sheridan. I still have some family there. Beautiful part of the world.
