How do i measure my exhaust for a new muffler?? i want to buy a cut out or a flowmaster 40 series. i have no idea how do take the correct measurements, and since i don't own a thirdgen (yet) i can't just ask what the diameter is. any help is appreciated greatly

Well, you've got me confused. If you don't have the car yet, why can you not ask, but can go measure?
Exhaust size is expressed in outside diameter (OD) - generally. With a caliper, just go out and measure the width of the pipe wherever you're interested (cat inlet, muffler inlet, etc.).
If all you have is a tape measure, run it around the pipe and divide the measurement by pi (3.14159 or so). Don't try to use a steel tape for this, you need something that conforms tight to the pipe like a cloth tape. Or, use a string, mark the length around once, then lay out the string and measure it with ruler/tape.
