Read some of the common questions and now I have more questions
Ok, So I accidently posted this question in the research post. I'm sure I'll get smack talked. Sorry. So for starters. I have a 305 TBI 92 RS Camaro. Car has sat for 17 years and going through it. Going to install headers, cam, full exhaust, delete EGR valve, delete air pump and all the hose and hard pipes on the headers. Installed TBI base plate shim, carb mod (sanded down for smooth air flow), Spectre low profile plenum with 4" hard tube connected to TPI air fliter connected to air damn below for cold air intake.
I just got done reading on the BEST headers in the world to install for my car. Alot of people are saying the Hooker 2055 set up is the best fit for the car with the Y pipe that allows the least amount of restrictions. In my head, I'm thinking long tube headers. I go to summit and they are mid or shorty pipes. Then I check fitment with my car. Summit says that they will not fit my car. So not sure who to believe or why. Looking at the 2055's they have the pipework for the smog pump, which I'm going to delete. So do I need to find the TPI version of the 2055?? Is long tube headers worth the low clearance issues or is there much difference between long tube vs. mid or shorty pipes. There isn't a real good pathway from front to back on these cars so I just wanted to know what is the best fit here. Still not sold on which way to go. Thanks

Wouldn't your air filter get soaking wet down there?
I've got Hooker shortys I found on Ebay some 20 years ago, but mine's a 355 so I'm not sure how that might work for you.
Re: Read some of the common questions and now I have more questions
They shouldn't. I'm mounting the TPI air box where it should go up at the hood latch elevation. I'm going to make some boxes with round tubes that cut into the air damn. So the air/water would have to travel vertical to the bottom of the stock airfilter box and do a button hook manover to get to the filter. I'll take some photos. all of the other cold air intakes have poor designs, moving the battery and still pulling air from the corner panels or getting air from the engine bay. Just trying to do something unique and effective at the sametime. We will see might just be a complete flop. Hope it works.

That's pretty sick looking. Very clean bay. Jealous on this end. I have alot to do before I get there!!! I have a lot of grime and rusty parts to clean and paint. I'll get there.
