Mufflex 3.5" on stock exhaust?

Dumb question, I know. Can you run a Mufflex 3.5" single exhaust on a stock single cat 92 Z28 305 car? I understand there won't be any gains but I am wanting new exhaust and eventually plan to run headers etc but for now, just a cat-back setup and I like the look of the Mufflex.

Yes, you'll have to adapt it to the current setup but doable

You will be tight going over the axle. I used a 3" system and have just enough room so it doesn't hit the panhard bar support.

As mentioned it is very doable but axle clearance will be tight. I would invest in a panhard rod relocation kit at the same time. This will give you the clearance you need.

I don't know about Mufflex but my Stainless Works 3.5" fits no problem with room to spare. No panhard changes needed.

Awesome! Thanks guys. I don't have access to the car at the moment. What is needed to adapt to the stock exhaust? I'm assuming it's 2.5"? Or 3"?

It is important to consider that modifications to the exhaust system can affect the performance and sound of the car, and for optimal results and installation of manifolds and other modifications, it is recommended to consult with experienced mechanics or tuners who specialize in Chevrolet Camaro cars.

It's not that sophisticated or Camaro specific for that matter. A small block chevy is the same as any other ICE. It is an air pump. The more you get in and the more you can get out, the more power you make. A tune will certainly optimize it, but not really needed until you change cam timing.

So I would just need to take it to an exhaust shop and have them reduce it from the factory size pipe to the 3.5"?
