Re: oxygen sensor

If the sensor threads into the same bung and tightens down correctly then you shouldn't have any leaks. If you have a leak then they sold you the wrong part.

Re: oxygen sensor

If this white "smoke" happens after a cold start-up, but then goes away after running for a minute or 2, it's normal. It's not "smoke" at all. It's condensation of the water vapor in the exhaust.

thank you,

I will test drive
But ; I have a question
The cable that feeds the exhaust sensor with electricity is divided into two parts
one for exhaust sensor
What about the second is it connected or empty?

Re: oxygen sensor

Not sure what you're asking about.

Post a photo, maybe we can identify it.

Re: oxygen sensor

It is difficult to take pictures from above. This cable is shaped like a Y. The first end connected the exhaust sensor
What about the other side?

Re: oxygen sensor

Still not sure what you mean "other side".

Looks like they're 2 separate connectors to me; just, they are run in the same harness. The one in the foreground has nothing to do with the O2 sensor.

Can't tell for sure what color the other wire is. Could be light blue, light green, grey, or ???. That would be the best clue as to what it is.

Does your temperature gauge work?

Re: oxygen sensor

" other side"
The cable shown in the picture with a circle around it, which is with the exhaust sensor in the same harness
Is it connected to something or is it empty
Yes, the temperature gauge is work
The color is not clear. Maybe I need to jack up the car

Re: oxygen sensor

Right: that's an entirely different thing, not related to the O2 sensor. Even if it happens to run in the same harness part of the way.

The only thing I can think of anywhere near the O2 sensor, that would also use a connector that would look like that, is the temp gauge sending unit. Its wire would be dark green, and the connector would have a sort of "slot" in it, on the side that is facing down in the photo. That's why I asked about the temp gauge. The sending unit is between the 2 front spark plugs on the same side as the O2 sensor; which would be above the left edge of that photo, and just in front of the spark plug wire you can see in it. The sending unit connector looks like a "mushroom" or a "nail head".

Re: oxygen sensor

Is that after the engine is hot or is the engine still cold? The ufo looking thing is the coolant bypass for the heater core, is the smoke (which could be steam) coming from it or below it? Also, that bypass should have a vacuum line hooked up to it that comes from the firewall.

Re: oxygen sensor

tarouty, Update your profile with information of your car, knowing the year, model and drivetrain will help those trying to help you, from 82-92 there are a bunch of changes made to these cars so somethings will apply and some will have nothing to do with your car.
