Hooker BH13201 Long tube headers gone?
I have been saving and waiting for the right time to redo the exhaust on my 1984 Camaro with a 388 Stroker. I finally am ready to redo the exhaust and to my dismay the headers I want have been discontinued after barely being in production. Does anyone know where a guy can find a set of Hookers BH13201 long tube headers? Does any warehouse happen to have one or does anyone here have a set they want to get rid of?

I can tell you from experience they are crap. I had a set of $200 eBay headers as a stopgap that fit better. The dual 2.5" exhaust is still available I believe and it is top notch. It fits perfectly and took about 2h to install with absolutely no modifications.

What are you using for headers to bolt up to that dual 2.5" system? The plan was to use those BH13201 headers with the 2.5" system too keep it all hooker. What did you do with the set of hookers you didn't like?

yes they are discontinued unfortunately.... I read somewhere that the speed engineering long tubes will fit with the hooker system, but this is anecdotal and I cannot say for sure (also depends on what motor mounts etc you are using). I was planning on the hooker setup as well, but due to this same reason, I went with hawks headers and a stainless works system and I am going to make my own y-pipe. ( I also decided I like the stock looking tips, and the hooker mufflers in the back look a little too chunky to me)

I was under the impression that these were the only decent fitting long tubes that'll fit around a manual transmission slave cylinder and have good ground clearance. beside stainless works but they are absurdly priced.

Re: Hooker BH13201 Long tube headers gone?
Right side, #4 spark plug crashed hard on #2 pipe. This is with the shortest plugs I could find. Had to space it away from the head and beat the pipe. Not really sure if it's a QC issue or a design issue. Also couldn't install the recommended starter because the pipes were too close to it. It was incredibly frustrating and their customer support wasn't worth a crap as well.

Looks like Hooker did away with all of their long tube headers for 3rd gens. I run Hooker super comps and wanted a new set, all discontinued. Looks like Hedman and Dougs still make long tubes.

Re: Hooker BH13201 Long tube headers gone?
Supposedly the dougs are a direct copy of the hooker super comp 2210s. How'd you find ground clearance on those? Manual or auto trans and if manual how was the slave cylinder clearance? Hedman just doesn't have a 1-3/4" primary option I think.
Re: Hooker BH13201 Long tube headers gone?
My car is strictly a drag car no exhaust and no street use. Ground clearance is fine, I have no problems with plugs and I have angle plug heads. I run an automatic so I can't say about slave cylinder. Years back I ran the Hedmans with 1 5/8" tubes and they fit fine with straight plug heads. It's just sad that Hooker has abandoned the 3rd gen platform.
