attn: SLP owners, what's up with this??
Well, over the weekend I installed my SLP headers on my 406 Camaro. Those were the EASIEST headers I've EVER put on. Just had one little problem, the cross-over pipe from the driver's side to the Y-pipe was EXACTLY 2 1/4" (the diameter of the pipe) too long. I have access to a TIG and a band saw, so it's not a big deal, but has anyone else had this problem?? Don't get me wrong, even if I had to completely redo this pipe, it would still be worth the $$$ for SLP's.
Thanks
Dave

Mine went on with no such problem, the crossover pipe fit fine.Maybe they were not a set run through quality control or such,if SLP even has such a thing.Just got the luck of the draw it sounds.

happend to me. I have a mig and a hacksaw and had to cut 1" off. I was aware of that possibility before I installed them so it wasn't a shock for me. But I would be pissed if I didn't have access to a welder and thought it would be a simple bolt-on.

I had a similar problem. The crossover pipe was too long and the bend was at the wrong angle to fit into the collector. The headers and collector were fine, but the crossover pipe took me several cuts and welds to get it to fit correctly. I called SLP and their only response was that I installed it incorrectly. What's up with that response.
It's not like I have a whole lot of choices on how it is installed. Anyway...I like the headers, but their quality control could be much better for the prices they charge.

I had the same problems too. Also My flanges to the head were totally screwed up too. Slp gave me some crap about that when I called. I hate Slp.
