Catco universal cat, how does it mount?

I'm trying to peice a 3 inch exhaust system together. How does the catco universal 3 inch converter mount? Our stock ones hook on to the tranny with a rubber mount. Is there a 3 inch one that comes with the mount like our stock one? I know a bunch of you have the catco 3 inch, any insight will help.

The 3" universal cat does not have the mount connection you are referring to. However, its an easy fix for a welder to do while he/she is welding the cat to the I and Y pipes.

Will summit part number CTO-6007 work for me?

There has to be a catch, it's only $51. It's 14 inches long. There is one for $100 and it's 16 1/2 inches long. Will these cheapies work for us?

Is it that much shorter than the stock one? Oh well I'll need pipe anyway since the end of mine will be cut off.

For all the trouble using a universal fit causes, just get a TPI single direct fit. $116 last time I checked, eliminates mount concerns, extra pipe, extra clamps or welding, etc., etc., etc. Also gives an additional degree of freedom so fit and adjustment of the I-pipe can be improved without a tube bending machine.

Sure wish I would have gone that route.

i was gonna ask, isnt it just easier to get the direct replacement, rather than deal with all those complications.....

i cant find many places online with prices.

i wish we would GP these.

My I-pipe won't fit anyway. I gotta go to the exhaust shop anyway. So the universal is perfect for me.
