cut out cat?
cut out cat?
I've a 92 5.0ltr V8 camaro, and am wanting to cut out the cat, and replace it with a section of straight through.
Will I get away with just doing this.
As where I live I am free from emmission hassels, or is there anything else I'm forgetting to consider?

If you don't have emissions you'll be fine. Sometimes you can pass a sniffer without one, but if you have visual checks you won't.
cut out cat !
Thanks for your quick answer
Nobody ever does visual checks for cats here, so I reckon thats fine.
One last thing though, what do I do with the sensor pipe attached to the cat, sorry really dumb I know

This is a little off subject as far as your question.........but depending what kinda muffler(sound) you have and more importantly what kind of sound you have, a cop can still look under your car if it is "too loud". Removing a cat is technically illegal regardless if you have emmissions testing or not, and can get you a nice fine if a cop sees it. You can always hollow it out..... or find a used one made for larger pipe, hollow it out, and then stick the straight pipe through it....which will make the cop happy
