SLP Headers/Angle plug heads

Man! Just spent an hour trying to find and answer to:

What non GM angle plug heads will work with the SLP headers?
What non GM straight plug heads will work with the SLP's?

I have not bought the heads yet but kinda thought it would be wise to get this figured out now.

And what's this about removing the steering column to install?

I am not familiar with the SLP part numbers so if it matters they will be going on a 89 Formula /5spd/dual cat

The group purchase is closed but Summit is still in business!

Can anyone help with this question?

Thanks in advance.

They work pretty well on my G1 Twisted Wedge Trick Flows...but I wouldn't recommend the G1s for other reasons.

I can only tell you what I just found out.

I'm going with ARF angle plug heads and SLP headers. I found out that the only way SLPs will work with these heads is have them machine a L98 angle to them. The standard angle in AFR's will not work with SLP headers. This is from the SLP and AFR tech folks.

My stock heads were straight and the plugs were close (1/2")to my SLPs but I never burned a wire.

Dwayne,
Thanks for the info.Never knew a L98 exhaust face was different than ordinary Small Cheavy heads.

Summit nor SLP could tell me either.Must have talked to the wrong guy at SLP.Was not even thinking to buy AFR but might now .I like to buy from companies who know their stuff.Makes me want to buy Hedmans too! He He!

Edelbrock RPM's and SLP's do not work at all. I found that out the hard way.

WORLD S/R TORQUERS WITH SLP 1 3/4 WORK IN MY 86 TA WITH A 400. USING ACCEL SHORTIE PLUGS AND 90 DEGREE BOOTS WITH HEAT SHEILDS. THE BRAKE LINES ARE REALLY CLOSE, NEED TO MASSAGE THEM A LITTLE. YES YOU NEED TO PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE STEERING COLUMN. REMMEBER THE ENGINE TIPS AS THE RPM GOES UP SO THE HEADER GETS CLOSER TO THE STEERING COLUMN. DO SOME SEARCHES AS THERE WAS A LOT OF TALK ABOUT THIS SUBJECT IN THE DEC 2000 TO FEB 2002 TIMEFRAME.

I know you asked for non-GM, but for those that are wondering, My SLP 1 5/8" headers and my SLP 1 3/4" headers both worked just fine with my L98 Corvette heads. No problems with spark plugs, wires, or fitment with the raised ports.
