Flowmaster has big selection on mufflers. If you have a Jeg's Mail Order catalog, inside in the exhaust section is a chart with the different types of mufflers that flowmaster makes and what kinds of sounds they make. I think the Flowmaster 60 series mufflers should work on your application, but I'm not sure on that.
Jess,
a flowmaster 80 series muffler will work perfect for what you want. Should give you the modern muscle car growl you're looking for. That's what i'm currently running on my camaro, but then again, i'm going for something different b/c i want to be absurdly loud. Anyway, Jegs or summitracing carries the 80 series: they run about 80 bucks.

If she wants a low sound, the 80 Series is not the muffler to get.

Why doesn't Flowmaster get smart and just offer all of their mufflers with single or dual outlets no matter the chamber?!

I got a wav of my 80 series in my sig. It sounds decent but sounds way better in person (Was recorded with a $10 mic)
At low Rpms it has a nice real deep bass to it. Then when you get on it, its got a great growl. Im 100% happy with it.

Get a better microphone!! I want to hear how it really sounds.
Welcome to the boards. I'm going to suggest a Hooker or Dynomax muffler. Try running a search on those to see what people have posted in the past. I'm guessing they are pretty much what you have in mind. Also, I don't know if you are looking for just a muffler, or a cat back system. That will affect the sound as well. Just a muffler should be under $100. A cat back system should run a few hundred dollars.

i get complements on my exhaust all the time, I bought a edelbrock cause they are quitter than flowmasters, and edelbrock has a racy sound not to mention a warranty. when I cut off my cat things got loud, all I need are some headers, and a 350 and I'm good to go for sound
